Metropolitan Nashville-Davidson County General Session Court Judge Lynda Jones decided to arrange her schedule on Friday mornings to accommodate wedding ceremonies after learning of a fellow judge’s backlog. Judge Jones is a member of AAUW Nashville.

The move comes after The Tennessean reported the Davidson County clerk’s office isn’t currently performing in-house ceremonies due to the coronavirus pandemic.

“Many couples are seeking the services of the courts to conduct wedding ceremonies as soon as the courts can safely do so,” Jones wrote in a news release.
