Thanks so much to all of you for responding to our poll to determine the best time for most to attend our April event at Thistle Farms in lieu of our regular monthly meeting.
AAUW Nashville will meet for lunch at The Cafe at Thistle Farms on Saturday, April 14th at noon. Please RSVP to sherrye1046@ymail.com by April 12th so we can provide the Cafe with a final count for lunch.
Thistle Farms is located at 5122 Charlotte Ave in Nashville.
On street parking is available, and there is a parking lot behind the restaurant as well. With a new menu developed by culinary director and beloved Nashville chef Martha Stamps, the Café serves globally inspired, locally sourced breakfast, lunch, and Nashville’s only daily tea. Graduates of Thistle Farms’ residential program operate this highly successful restaurant venue.
Following lunch, we will step next door to the retail store to find out more about Thistle Farms’ mission to HEAL, EMPOWER, AND EMPLOY women survivors of trafficking, prostitution, and addiction. They do this by providing safe and supportive housing, the opportunity for economic independence, and a strong community of advocates and partners. We’ll also have the opportunity to purchase some of the wonderful products manufactured by the women as part of the program’s path to economic independence.
Visiting Thistle Farms is an enlightening experience, and I look forward to seeing you there!
